WAGES: $32-$38.00 Per hour plus benefits
REPORTS TO: Logistics Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Lowboy Driver to support our construction operations by transporting heavy equipment and oversized loads to and from job sites. This position plays a critical role in keeping projects on schedule by ensuring equipment is delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with DOT regulations.
The ideal candidate has at least three years of verifiable lowboy experience, a strong understanding of federal and state DOT compliance requirements, and a solid working knowledge of Hours of Service (HOS) regulations. Attention to detail is essential, as this role requires accurate completion of DVIRs, logbooks, and related documentation.
This position requires more than just driving — it involves properly loading, securing, and unloading heavy machinery such as excavators, dozers, loaders, and other construction equipment. Candidates must be confident in chaining, binding, weight distribution, and route planning for oversized or permitted loads when necessary.
We are looking for a dependable professional who prioritizes safety, takes pride in equipment care, communicates effectively with dispatch and field crews, and always represents the company professionally.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Safely transport heavy construction equipment to and from job sites
• Ensure all loads are properly secured and compliant with DOT regulations
• Maintain accurate logs and inspection reports
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and job site personnel
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience operating a lowboy trailer hauling heavy construction equipment
• Valid CDL Class A license (required)
• Clean driving record with no major violations
• Thorough understanding of DOT regulations and compliance requirements
• Working knowledge of Hours of Service (HOS) rules and electronic logging systems
• Experience completing and maintaining accurate DVIRs (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports)
• Proven ability to safely load, secure, chain, and transport heavy equipment
• Knowledge of proper weight distribution and load securement regulations
• Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Strong attention to detail and safety
• Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism on job sites
• Ability to lift and secure chains and binders as required
